Shunyata Improvisation Group: Non-attachment

  • The Globe 11 Railway Street Newcastle upon Tyne, England, NE4 7AD United Kingdom (map)

This concert focuses upon the aesthetic Non-attachment; open-minded and detached, being without any form completes every form.

“Non-attachment gives the work its fresh and original feeling. The object is somehow familiar but does not depend on anything else.”

“As a water bead on a lotus leaf, as water on a red lily, does not adhere, so the sage does not adhere to the seen, the heard, or the sensed.” - Siddhartha Gautama

Support from HERE.KITI.KITI (Tobias Sarra & Laura Stutter Garcia) who make noise within order and pretty songs inside of frenetic frames. They use keys, violins, strings and things, making a merging of electronics and acoustics with organic room spatialisations and synthetic wranglings. Dramatic and understated in similar measure, they stretch from the edge of chaos to the beginning of boredom.

Shunyata Improvisation Group is trubba not [guitar], Mark Carroll [cello], NofC [voice/percussion/melodeon] and John Garner [violin/shakuhachi/percussion].
